Posted on Friday 7 March 2008

Thanks to Sugarbush, we will travel up Mt. Ellen access road to nearly reach the ridge line. We will be led by Sean Lawson, looking for the rare Bicknell’s Thrush and other alpine nesters. Birders with high clearance, low-range, 4 wheel drive vehicles are needed to help us carpool up the mountain along the Sugarbush maintenance road.  Be prepared for a rough ride up a steep trail,  then a hike up a steep ski trail.   Meet at the Shaws at 6:30 AM or at Sugarbush North parking lot at 7:00 AM.  The trip will end between 10:30 and 11 AM and will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.  Dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear.  Bring water and snacks.  Preregistration required for this trip, limit 15.  Email Pat at pfols@gmavt.net or call 496-3663 by May 31.
